What you receive

  • Photos and measurements
  • A clear, written report
  • Recommended next steps

Start with the facts—not guesswork

SouthEco® investigates common comfort and insulation problems using thermal imaging, attic insulation measurements, indoor temperature and humidity checks, visible air-leak observations, and limited moisture screening.

Thermal scans are most accurate with at least 20°F between inside and outside.1 In Central Texas, that means summer afternoons and cold winter mornings, so we schedule your visit when conditions are right.

Your written report includes

  • Thermal and standard photographs of observed problem areas
  • Attic insulation condition and depth measurements where safely accessible
  • Temperature, humidity, and vent-temperature observations
  • Documented concerns and recommended next steps
  • A written Home Comfort Assessment report

Questions about assessments

What does the assessment cost?

$199. If you go ahead with a qualifying insulation or air-sealing project completed within 30 days, $100 of the fee is credited toward it.

Is this the same as a free estimate?

No. A free estimate gives you a firm price for a specific job. The Home Comfort & Thermal Assessment is a detailed diagnostic visit with thermal imaging, measurements, and a written report.

Is this a home inspection for buying or selling a home?

No. It’s a comfort and insulation assessment for homeowners, focused on insulation, air leaks, and ductwork.

Do you test for mold?

No. Moisture screening is limited to meter readings in areas of concern. This is a comfort and insulation assessment, not a mold inspection.

Will it tell me how much I’ll save?

No. Savings depend on your home and how you use it. We show you where your home is losing comfort, and what each fix involves.

What do I need to do to get ready?

Keep your heating or cooling running normally, clear a path to the attic hatch, and have recent utility bills handy if you’d like us to review them.
